I want a better Baltimore for my children and my grandchildren. I want a better Baltimore because my ancestors told me the work is not done, and that I must continue what they started, and to show the next generation how to do the same.

-Antoinette Mugar

Tayler Mugar is a poet, Certified Pharmacy Technician, and currently works at a hospital as a Patient Access Specialist II. Having grown up in West Baltimore, she has always admired activists, particularly Tupac Shakur and how he authentically and creatively described the struggle and his love for the betterment of black people through his music.

She has been a leader at Turnaround Tuesday, a non-profit organization which has helped over 800 citizens get livable wage employment, for six years. She has also assisted in creating a peace garden featuring public artwork in Harlem Park West with the organization The Mission Continues.

Tayler also has a podcast entitled “Precious” under the name Simone Mugar where she expresses her views on race, culture, love, and the intricacies of life. She is also currently working on a documentary about self expression in response to her connection to her city, community, and generation.
